Award-Winning Documentary Highlights the Realities of Alzheimer’s Disease and the Power of Love

For loved ones and caregivers of individuals with dementia, Prairie Elder Care is proud to sponsor a special screening of Taking Care, an emotionally powerful documentary by award-winning filmmaker James Keach, on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 6:30-7:30 PM at Church of the Resurrection, Building B, Room B252, 13720 Roe Ave., Leawood, KS 66221. This film is for caregivers of individuals with dementia and those who support them.

Directed and produced by Keach, and executive produced by Lauren Miller Rogen and Seth Rogen, Taking Care provides a deeply personal look at the impact of early-onset Alzheimer’s disease through the lens of Lauren and Seth’s journey as their families face the complexities and heartbreak of Lauren’s mother’s advancing early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. Featuring heartfelt interviews, real-life experiences, and insights from their entertainment industry colleagues, the film brings warmth, humor, and hope to a difficult subject.

“At Prairie Elder Care, we are committed to supporting people living with dementia, their caregivers, families, and our community as a whole,” said Lisa Elliott, Director of Sales and Community Programs at Prairie Elder Care. “By sharing this film, we hope to spark important conversations, foster understanding, and remind families facing Alzheimer’s that they are not alone.”

This event is free and open to the public. Caregivers, families, healthcare professionals, and community members are encouraged to attend. View the preview trailer here https://rocofilms.com/films/taking-care/.
